FAVORITE MAKEUP LOOKS **** ENGLISH FRIDAY

Like I mentioned in my last post I love makeup and I figured it would be helpful for you not only to see the products I use but also to see the makeup looks I created with them. I have chosen 4 different makeup looks I have wore in the past few months for different occasions that I really like. I will go through the products that I used but also why I decided on that makeup look for that specific situation or event and where you can find them. I hope you guys like it and find it useful somehow. So let´s begin!

Weekend Makeup (church or lunch with the family): On my weekends I normally go to church or have lunch with my boyfriend and family, so this particular look I wore to church. I know it may be a bit tricky to wear makeup to church sometimes but it all depends on how comfortable you feel doing it. I normally try to look put together but I stay away from super smokey eyes and bright lips. So I think you could say this one is a a more natural makeup look.I decided to use a redish-cooper tone on my eyes and create a very sutil smokey eye, I used brown liner in my upper lash line (I find that using a pencil liner gives your look a more natural finish than using liquid liner), and a nude liner in my waterline which opens up my eyes more, also I have dark brown mascara on. The rest of my face I kept it very simple, besides foundation and powder, I just add a bit of bronzer just to give a bit of color to my face and a bronze blush to my cheeks for added color and dimension. On my lips I only have a lip liner that is somewhat similar to my real lip color and some lip balm to make the color look more natural on my lips.

Anniversary Makeup: This makeup look I wore to our anniversary dinner. This was not a super formal dinner but of course I wanted to look nice because it is an important day. For this look I did use a primer before my foundation to make my makeup look better and last longer. I kept my eye shadow look very natural using a champagne sparkly color all over the lid and a rose gold in my crease and put the main focus of the eyes in the winged eyeliner and black voluminizing mascara to finish the look. Again contoured my face a little bit and used a very natural blush to give a little of color to my cheeks and finished with a nude lip and a bit of highlighter.

Work Party: Every now and then we have special dinners or parties at work and you want to look a bit more produced than you do on an every day basis. Therefore, I decided to use a red lipstick on this day and made that the focus of my makeup look. Since I knew this was going to be a night time makeup I created a sutil smokey eyes (not too smokey because again the main focus is the lips) and use winged eyeliner and put some black eyeliner on my waterline as well. As in all my looks and bit of highlight and contour and a berry tone blush on my cheeks. I have always believe that a good way to spice up your makeup look is with a bright lip for those special occasions in which you want to look different and show another side of your personality.

Fashion Show / Social Event: This final look I wore to a fashion show I was invited to. This was a bit more formal so I did put a bit more of effort into it. Based on my outfit I decided I wanted to ware a deep burgundy color on my lips, so I kept my eyes more on the neutral side with pinks but as always did my winged eyeliner and voluminizing mascara to give my eyes a pop. I went a bit more strong with the highlight and contour and used a berry blush to give my cheeks some color.

MAC Products!!! ***** Productos MAC!!!

HELLO EVERYBODY!

Long time no see!! I have been super busy and all over the place lately and the blog has suffer the consequences of that. Nevertheless, my love for makeup is still going strong so here we are with another post! Recently I have received multiple requests from people close to me not only to review products but also to teach them a bit how I do my makeup and what products I normally use. Using that as an inspiration I have decided that it may be helpful to do brand reviews and talk a bit about the products and what I think about them as well as showing you some looks I have created with those products and who knows maybe I will even record a tutorial in the near future!

Now let us talk about makeup! More specifically let´s talk about MAC makeup! This is a very popular brand in North America and all over Europe but most recently there are also a few places in which you can find them in Costa Rica and Latin America. I will say this first because it may influence your opinion towards the brand as a whole but it is definitely a bit more pricy than the regular drugstore brands. I recently had the chance to purchase quite a few products from the brand and I will do a bit of a review and will be completely honest regarding their quality and whether or not I´ll be purchasing any more products from the brand in the near future.

1.     MAC prep + prime beauty balm / Mac pro long wear concealer: The beauty balm I use as a primer but you should be able to use it as a foundation if you want a lighter and more natural look, it has SPF in it and it helps your makeup stay put and last longer, the texture is similar to a moisturizer. I believe the shade I got is a bit light for my skin tone but I have apply it as a primer and it works just fine, again it is not my favorite primer but it does its job of acting as a good base for makeup. The concealer I have mixed feelings about, I don´t hate it but I also don´t love it. Maybelline´s Fit Me concealer it is still my favorite plus I find this MAC tends to crease a bit so to be a 100% honest these 2 products I may not repurchase, maybe the beauty balm if I can choose another shade.

2.     MAC mineralize skin finish in cheeky bronze / MAC blush in Frankly Scarlet: Now these are very popular on the brand and from all of the products definitely my favorite. The mineralize skin finish I use as a highlighter or as blush if I´m at the beach or I want to look really glowy and I love it, it is just gorgeous and the texture of the product is amazing, the glow it gives to your skin is just incredible. Now regarding the blush I have to admit I picked this shade because it was not like anything I had in my makeup collection but I was a bit scare of how pigmented it looked. Nevertheless, once I had the chance to use it I found that it is very buildable and a little bit goes a long way and it give your cheeks a very natural berry color that I really love! Bottom line, I will be trying to get a few more shades from both products to see if I love them as much as I love these ones!

3.     MAC Haute and Naughty Lash /MAC black eyeliner: This mascara is crazy! If you ask me I don´t know how it actually works but it has 2 wands. The thinner makes your lashes longer and the thicker one makes them, well thicker so it is like a 2 in 1 product. It is very good and your lashes look amazing. The black eyeliner is ok but nothing out of the normal with this product, I believe any other black liner will do the trick but again it is nice.

4.     MAC Dazzle glass in pink lemonade / MAC matte lipstick in Diva/ MAC frost lipstick in Ruby Woo: Let´s start with the glass, the smell and the color are beautiful. It has like glitter built into it and it has the most amazing sheen in it. Now the texture I´m not too crazy about, for me it´s a bit too sticky and personally I don´t like that on a gloss but again the color is so pretty. On the lipstick I decided to grab 2 of their most popular shades, if you have heard about this brand you would know what I mean when I say that there are a few shades that are really popular and people go bananas for. I picked the Diva shade in a matte finish and it is an amazing burgundy red, a bit bold, but again if you´re into strong matte lips you need this one. The only thing is that the matte finish is very dry so you need to scrub your lips and also put a lip balm before applying the lipstick. On the frost finish which is meant to be glossier and shiny I went for the ruby woo shade. This is a very nice orange toned red and super popular from the brand. At first I was a bit hesitant of the finish but it is so nice, it is really smooth and buildable and it has a sheen but nothing too crazy. I really like it. Not sure if I would purchase the gloss again but there will definitely be a few more lipsticks in the future coming my way.

Like I said before and as in any brand not all of the products are going to be incredible but I believe MAC has some really amazing products that are worth the hype and some that are ok but not worth the money. I hope this help if you ever run into a MAC store and want to pick up a few products or if you want to know which products not to spend the money on. Again, this is my opinion, you´re free to go and try whatever you want and decide for yourself.

 ¡HOLA A TODOS!

Llevo mucho tiempo de no escribir por acá, pero he estado muy ocupada últimamente y el blog sufrió  las consecuencias de eso. Sin embargo, mi amor por el maquillaje está vivo todavía así que aquí estamos con otro post! Recientemente he recibido múltiples solicitudes de personas cercanas a mí, no sólo para decirles que pienso sobre ciertos productos, sino también para enseñarles un poco cómo me maquillo y qué productos uso normalmente. Usando esto como inspiración he decidido que puede ser útil hacer revisiones de ciertas marcas y hablar un poco acerca de los productos y lo que pienso de ellos, así como mostrar algunos looks que he creado con esos productos y quién sabe tal vez en un futuro no muy lejano grabe un tutorial!

¡Ahora vamos a hablar de maquillaje! Más específicamente del maquillaje MAC! Se trata de una marca muy popular en América del Norte y en toda Europa, pero recientemente también hay algunos lugares en los que se pueden encontrar en Costa Rica y América Latina. Voy a decir esto primero, ya que puede influir en su opinión hacia la marca, pero es sin duda un poco más cara que las marcas regulares que conseguimos en supermercados y farmacias. Recientemente tuve la oportunidad de comprar y probar algunos productos de la marca y les voy a dar mi opinión y seré completamente honesta en cuanto a su calidad y si voy o no a comprar más productos de la marca en el futuro.

1. MAC prep + prime beauty balm / Mac pro long wear concealer: El bálsamo de belleza lo uso como una pre base pero podría usarse como una base si quieren un aspecto más ligero y más natural, tiene SPF y ayuda al maquillaje a que dure más tiempo, la textura es similar a una crema hidratante. Creo que el tono que tengo es un poco claro para mi color de piel, pero cuando lo aplico como pre base funciona bien, de nuevo, no es mi favorita pero hace su trabajo de actuar como una buena base para el maquillaje. Con el corrector tengo sentimientos encontrados, no lo odio ni me encanta. El corrector de ojeras de Maybelline Fit Me sigue siendo mi favorito. Además, este de MAC tiende a correrse un poco durante el día así que  para ser 100% honesta estos 2 productos no creo que los vuelva a comprar, tal vez el bálsamo de cara si pudiese elegir otro tono.

2. MAC mineralize skin finish en cheeky bronze / MAC rubor en Frankly Scarlet: Estos son productos muy populares de la marca y de todos los que compré sin duda mis favoritos. El mineralize skin finish lo uso como iluminador o como rubor cuando estoy en la playa y me quiero ver súper bronceada y me encanta, es simplemente precioso y la textura del producto es increíble, el brillo que le da a la piel es simplemente increíble. Ahora con respecto al rubor  tengo que admitir que compré ese colora porque no se parece a nada en mi colección de maquillaje, pero estaba un poco nerviosa de cómo se iba a ver ese tono en mi piel. Sin embargo, una vez que tuve la oportunidad de usarlo me pareció que es un producto que podemos intensificar o usar muy levemente y un poco de producto es suficiente para dar a nuestras mejillas un color cereza bien natural que me encanta! En pocas palabras, voy a intentar conseguir más tonos de ambos productos para ver si me gustan tanto como estos!

3. MAC Haute and Naughty Lash /MAC black eyeliner: Esta máscara de pestañas es una locura! Si usted me pregunta no sé cómo funciona realmente, pero tiene 2 varas o brochitas. La más delgada hace que tus pestañas se vean más largas y la más gruesa bueno hace que se vean más gruesas  así que es como un producto 2 en 1. Es muy buena y las pestañas se ven hermosas. El delineador de ojos negro está bien, pero nada fuera de lo normal con este producto, creo que cualquier otro delineador negro hará el truco, pero de nuevo, es agradable.

4. MAC Dazzle glass in pink lemonade / MAC matte lipstick in Diva/ MAC frost lipstick in Ruby Woo: Vamos a empezar con el brillo, el olor y el color son hermosos. Tiene como brillitos que hacen que se vea como un reflejo bien lindo en los labios. Ahora la textura no me gusta, para mí es demasiado pegajoso y personalmente no me gusta eso en un brillo, pero de nuevo el color es muy bonito. En cuanto a los lápices de labios decidí tomar 2 de sus tonos más populares, si han oído hablar de esta marca saben a qué me refiero cuando digo que hay algunos colores que son realmente populares y la gente se vuelve loca por ellos. Escogí el color Diva en un acabado mate y es un rojo vino increíble, un poco atrevido, pero si te gustan los labios mate con colores oscuros este es perfecto para ti. Lo único es que el acabado mate es muy seco por lo que necesitan exfoliar los  labios y también poner un bálsamo para los labios antes de aplicar el lápiz labial. En el acabado frost que se supone es más satinado tengo el color Ruby Woo. Este es un rojo con tonos anaranjados y es súper popular. Al principio estaba un poco indecisa con el acabado que escogí pero es bien lindo, la textura es bien suave y tiene un satinado pero nada demasiado exagerado. Me gusta mucho. No estoy segura si compraré brillos más brillos labiales pero definitivamente hay más lápices de labios en mi futuro cercano.

Como he dicho antes y como en cualquier marca no todos los productos van a ser increíbles, pero sí creo que MAC tiene algunos productos realmente increíbles que vale la pena  y algunos que están bien, pero no valen el dinero. Espero que esto les sea de ayuda si alguna vez van a una tienda MAC y quieres escoger algunos productos o si quieren saber en cuales no gastar el dinero. Sin embargo, esta es mi humilde opinión, si quieren probar ustedes mismos pues espero que lo hagan. El maquillaje es algo bastante personal.

BLACK FRIDAY- MY BIRTHDAY / VIERNES NEGRO- MI CUMPLEAÑOS

Hello beautiful people! This year my birthday and Black Friday happened to be on the same day so I figured I would share with you guys the things I purchased and the presents I got. Hope you enjoy!

Hola gente hermosa! Este año mi cumpleaños y el Viernes Negro cayeron el mismo día y pensé que podría compartir con ustedes las cosas que compre y los regalos que recibí! Espero lo disfruten!

BLACK FRIDAY *** VIERNES NEGRO

• Candles: I have a very serious obsession with candles lately. Bath and Body Works sells my favorite candles ever and had a pretty good sale on them with a 50% off. I purchased 2 new candles with very tropical smells Mango Dragon Fruit and Red Guava Lava for the summer. *** Últimamente tengo una gran obsesión con las candleas. Bath and Body Works vendé mis favoritas y tenían una promoción de un 50% de descuento y compré 2 candelas de olores bastante tropicales para el verano  Mango Drasgon Fruit y Red Guava Lava.

                                                                      

Clothes: In the clothes department there were not very good sales or at least I did not find many things I liked so the only thing I purchased was a camel cardigan from Zara on a very warm material. *** En la categoría de ropa la verdad no encontré descuentos muy buenos así que lo único que compré fue un cardigan en Zara color camel de un material bastante suave y caliente.                                                                                               

• Makeup: This is the area I went a bit crazy on, I love makeup and lucky for me Siman had a 50% off on brands such as Almay, L'Oreal and Revlon. I stocked up on my day and night moisturizing cream from L'Oreal that I use daily. I also purchased a new CC cream, a concelear, an eyebrow pencil and some lip glosses from Almay. From Revlon I got 3 more ColoRburst Matte Balms which I am a bit obsessed with. *** En esta área me volví un poco loca porque amó el maquillaje y para mi suerte Siman tenia un 50% de descuento en marcas como Almay. L'Oreal y Revlon. Compré las cremas de día y noche de L'Oreal que uso diariamente, de Almay compré una base ligera apara la piel, un corrector, un lápiz de cejas y brillos para los labios y de Revlon 3 más de lo los bálsamos matte que ya había compartido en el blog y con los cuales estoy un poco obsesionada.                                                                                                                                

MY BIRTHDAY *** MI CUMPLEAÑOS

• From my boyfriend I got a wireless speaker. I´m always listening to music and I had to use my Ipod all the time or use my phone and the quality of the sound was not the best so I was very excited about the speaker and now I use it all the time, my mom is going a bit crazy I think. He also got me a personalized bottle of Jones with a picture of us and our names and took me to dinner to a very nice restaurant. *** Mi novio me regalo un parlante inalambrico. Yo estoy escuchando música todo el tiempo y tenía que usar siempre mi ipod o mi teléfono y la calidad de sonido no es muy buena así que cuando abrí el regalo me emocioné muchísimo y ahora lo uso todo el tiempo. Mi mama se esta volviendo un poco loca creo yo. También me regalo una botella de Jones personalizada con nuestra foto y nuestros nombre y me llevo a cenar a un restaurante súper rico .

                                                            

• From my mom I got a pair of amazing swarovski diamond earrings that I have fallen in love with, they are small but súper feminine and delicate. My Sister got me a scarf, some socks and a hairband all from Forever 21, my brother a Bath and BodyWorks' body mist in Oahu Coconut Sunset and my dad gave me the Fault in Our Stars DVD. *** Mi mama me regalo un par de aretes de diamantes Swarovski de los cuales estoy enamorada porque son pequeños pero super femeninos y delicados. Mi hermana me regalo una bufanda, unas medias y una cinta para el cabello todo de Forever 21. Mi hermano me regalos un perfume de Bath and Body Works en el aroma Oahu Coconut Sunset y mi papa el DVD de The Fault in Our Stars.                                                               
• From my aunt and grandma I got a hair iron to do curls which I really wanted as well and was not expecting to get but I´m a lucky lady. My brother´s girlfriend and her family gave me a gorgeous scarf and a body wash and my cousins gave me another Bath and Body splash along with a body wash. *** Mi tía y mi abuela me dieron una pinza para hacerme ondas en el pelo la cual quería desde hace tiempo pero no pensé que me la fueran a dar pero soy una muchacha muy afortunada. La novia de mi hermano y su familia me dieron una bufanda hermosa y un gel de baño, mis primos otro perfume de Bath and BodyWorks y otro gel de baño.                                                  
• Last but not least I got a hand cream  and some CyZone eye shadows from my other aunt and my friends gave me an Olay face cream that is supposed to be amazing and a lip crayon from MaxFactor.***  Por último recibí una crema de manos y unas sombras de ojos de Cyzone por parte de mi otra tía y mis amigas me regalaron una crema hidratante de Olay que se supone es increíble y un lápiz de labios de MaxFactor.                                                                                                 

I wanted to say that I´m not bragging on any form just figured it will be interesting to see the different things I purchased or got because they can also give you present ideas and I enjoy watching this types of videos and reading these types of blogs. I am aware of how blessed I am and I´m grateful for every single thing I got for my birthday including every message, call, hug and kiss! *** Solo quería decir que no estoy tratando de alardear para nada simplemente me pareció que sería interesante ver las distintas cosas que compré o que recibí las cuales también pueden ayudarles con inspiración si tienen que comprar algún regalo. Además de que yo disfruto ver esta clase de videos y leer esta clase de blogs. Se que soy una persona súper bendecida y estoy súper agradecida por cada detalle que recibí en mi cumpleaños, cada mensaje, cada llamada, cada abrazo y cada beso!
