COLOR!!

HOLA A TODOS!!!! Disculpas por haber pasado mas de una semana sin escribir pero la vida ha estado increíblemente ocupada y ademas he estado un poquito enferma! Pero aquí estoy de nuevo para compartir con ustedes una entrada que me fue solicitada  y que con muchísimo gusto aceptamos el reto! Básicamente hoy vamos a ver como usar el color en nuestro maquillaje, consejos básicos y otras cosillas por ahí que nos pueden ser bastante útiles! HELLO EVERYBODY!! I'm so so sorry it’s been over a week since my last post but life has just gotten in the way and to be honest I have been a little bit sick. Nevertheless, here I am again to share with you guys a post that was requested and that I accepted as a challenge! Basically, today we are going to learn how to use color on our makeup, basic advice and a few more things that can be pretty useful for you!

3 clases de maquillaje * 3 Types of makeup:

1. El primer tipo de maquillaje es en el que queremos enfatizar nuestros ojos. Si decidimos que nuestros ojos serán el centro de atención entonces nuestros labios deben de complementar el maquillaje y no opacarlo por ende van a ir en un color mas natural y claro. The first type of makeup is the one in which we want to give emphasis to our eyes. If we decide that our eyes are going to be the center of attention, then our lips should complement not take away the attention which means they have to be more natural and light.
   
   
   
2. El segundo tipo de maquillaje es en el que queremos enfatizar nuestros labios. Igual que lo mencione anteriormente si queremos enfatizar los labios entonces los ojos deben de ser super naturales y no muy cargados porque queremos que nuestros labios se lleven toda la atención por lo que lo mejor seria segurarnos que nuestros labios esten en las mejores condiciones. The second one is the type of makeup in which we want to emphasize our lips. Just like I said before, if we want our lips to have all the attention our eyes must be natural and not too heavy because we want people to notice our lips. Therefore, it would be better if our lips are in their best condition and well hydrated.
   
3. El tercero es el que es mas neutral, aquí no queremos hacer ningún énfasis especifico simplemente queremos asegurarnos que nuestro maquillaje este balanceado y se vea natural pero lindo. The third one id the one in which we do not want to emphasize anything in particular, we just want to make sure our makeup is even, natural but still pretty.
   

Que colores te quedan mejor?* What colors suit you best?

Una vez que decidimos que clase de maquillaje queremos, entonces pasamos a saber cuales son los tonos que mas nos van. Como? Super fácil... tenemos que ver cual es el color de nuestras venas. Si son azules nuestras tonalidades son frías lo que quiere decir que los colores que mas nos van tanto para sombras como para labiales o brillos son: Rojo sangre, rosa hielo, fucsia, nude, azul, verde, grises o plateados. Si por el contrario tus venas son verdes significa que tu tonalidad es cálida. Esto sigfica que tus coloresson: naranja, durazno, nectarín, café, chocolate, vino, rosa viejo, hueso,etc. Si no puedes distinguir quiere decir que tuviste la gran fortuna de poder usar la mayoria de los colores que ya mencione. Afortunada!!! Once we have decided which type of makeup we want, then we need to know which our undertone is. This in order to know which colors suit us best. How? Super easy, just look at the veins behind your wrist. I f they are blue that means that you are cold, which means that the colors you should use from eye shadow and lipstick are: bloody red, icy pink, fuchsia, blues, green, gray and silver. If the veins are green that means you are warm and your colors are: orange, peach, nectarine, browns, chocolate, wine, bone and old pink. If by any chance you can't tell if your veins are blue or green it means that you are a combination of the 2 and get to use pretty much any color!!! Lucky you!

5 consejos al maquillarte con color * 5 Tips for your makeup with color:

1.  Probar- Try: Si no estas segura de como se va a ver un color de labial o sombras en tu tono piel intenta ponerte un poco en la parte superior de tu mano. Si te gusta como se ve quiere decir que en tus labios o ojos se va a ver muy similar. If you do not know how a certain color would look on your skin tone just take a little bit and put it on the back of your hand. If you like how it looks it means that you will like it once it is on your face.
2. Preguntar* Ask: No te de miedo preguntar. Las muchachas en los puestos de maquillaje están ahí por una razón y es mejor preguntar que arrepentirse luego por comprar algo que no vas a usar. Don't be afraid to ask, the ladies in all the makeup stores are there for a reason. It is better to ask than to buy something you will not use later.
3. Practicar*Practice: Probablemente nos va a llevar mas de un intento lograr el look de maquillaje que queremos. Si quieres usar un maquillaje nuevo para un evento importante practica antes del dia para que veas que puedes hacer mejor y este lista para ese día. It is very likely that we would need to try more than once till we get that perfect makeup look we are looking for. If you want to wear a new makeup look for an special event you should practice beforehand so you can see what can be done better and be ready for the day.
4. Atreverse* Dare: A veces el color puede ser un poco intimidante pero solo hay que atreverse y probar cosas nuevas. Muchas personas me dicen que les fascina mi labial pero que ellas nunca se lo pondrían. Mi consejo, inténtalo por lo menos una vez y si no te gusta esta bien pero nunca sabrás hasta que lo intentes. Sometimes color can be a little intimidating, but you just have to dare to try new things. A lot of girls tell me they love my lipstick color but they would never use it. My advice is to try at least once and if you don't like then that's fine, but you would never know if you don't try.
5. Se tu mismo* Be you: Para mi el maquillaje tambien es una expresion artistica y con el maquillaje tambien expresamos como nos sentimos. Asi que no importa lo que quieras intentar simplemente se tu misma y si a ti te gusta entonces no dejes que los demas se metan en tu cabeza! For me makeup is an art expression in which we express how we feel. So, no matter what just be yourself and if you like it then don't let anybody else get in the way.

MUSIC FRIDAY *VIERNES MUSICAL

Saludos a todos!!! Saliendonos un poco de la rutina de belleza y moda hoy voy a hablar sobre uno de mis temas favoritos: MÚSICA!!! Voy a compartir con todos ustedes mi TOP TEN de canciones mas escuchadas durante los últimos meses y una que otra cosilla mas que me ha tenido obsesionada a nivel musical! Greetings everybody! Getting away from the makeup and fashion routine a little bit, today I´m going to talk about one of my favorite topics: MUSIC!!! I will share my Top Ten of my most favorite songs in the last couple of months and other silly things I have been obsessed with lately musical wise.

TOP TEN: No están en orden especifico, simplemente son las canciones que mas escucho diariamente.  Generalmente tengo una canción por día que voy a escuchar mil veces y también la cantare todo el día la este escuchando o no (así de loca soy). These are in no specific order; I just listen to them on daily basis. Normally, I have a song of the day and I will listen to it over and over again and I will sing it all day whether I´m listening to it or not (yes, I´m that crazy).

TOP 5 New Findings * TOP 5 Nuevos Descubrimientos: Los siguientes artistas o grupos son nuevos (para mi) y he estado escuchando su música durante este mes y hasta el momento me parecen bastantes buenos! Yo amo buscar nuevos grupos y nuevas canciones y no hay para mi igual que escuchar una nueva canción y decir ¿ Como no la había escuchado antes?!!! The following artists or bands are new (to me) and I have been listening to their music this month and till know I really like them. I love to look for new groups and new songs and there is nothing to me like the feeling of listening a new song and ask : How come I never heard this before?!!

1. The 1975's: Son Ingleses y su musica es rock / Indie Alternativo. Hasta el momento mi canción favorita es "Chocolate" y tienen un sonido bastante particular que me gusta bastante. They are form England and are an alternative rock/indie band. My favorite song is "Chocolate" and they have a very interesting sound which I really like.
   
2. Bastille: También son Ingleses y se formaron en Londres en el 2010. Tocan rock y su ultimo disco se llama "Bad Blood". Mis canciones favoritas son Pompei, Flaws. Things We Lost in the Fire, y Oblivion. El vocalista tiene una voz increíble y las letras de las canciones están super buenas. They are also from England and got together in London on 2010. They are a rock band and their latest album is called "Bad Blood". My favorite songs are Pompei, Flaws. Things We Lost in the Fire, y Oblivion. The lead singer's voice is very good and the lyrics of their songs are amazing!
   
3. Lorde: Ella es de Nueva Zelanda y tiene solo 16 años!!! Su álbum se llama "Pure Heroine" , su estilo musical vendría siendo algo como indie pop y mi canción favorita (esta en mi top ten) tiene que ser Royals simplemente porque la letra es increíble y la melodía bastante novedosa y pegajosa. She is from New Zeeland and is only 16 years old!!! Her album is called "Pure Heroine" and her genre is pop/indie. My favorite song is by far Royals (it is on my top ten) because the lyrics are just amazing and the melody very catchy and original.
   
4. Emeli Sandé: Ella es mitad Inglesa y mitad Escocesa y empezó como escritora de canciones para artistas importantes ( Alicia Keys, Leona Lewis, Cher Lloyed) y en el 2011 ya le dieron un contrato en una disquera. Mis canciones favoritas son las del Top Ten Next to Me y Beneath Your Beautiful porque las letras son bastante buenas y tiene una voz increíble. She was born in England but is from Scotland and she started up writing song for bug artists and in 2011 she finally got a record deal. My favorite songs are the ones on my Top Ten just because the lyrics are crazy good and her voice is amazing!
   
5. Olly Murs: También es Ingles y salio a la luz cuando participo en X-Factor en 2009 quedando como finalista. El escribe sus canciones y su genero se considera pop. Mi canción favorita es Dance With Me Tonight y tiene un ritmo super pegajoso que te haced querer bailar con el de verdad! He is also from England and became famous when he participated in the X-Factor in 2009. He writes his songs and his genre is pop. My favorite song is Dance With You Tonight just because it is super catchy and makes you want to dance with him for real!!

Favorite Music T.V Show * Serie de televisión musical favorita:

• THE VOICE: Simplemente no se como no había visto esto antes ( probablemente por el trabajo, universidad, responsabilidades , etc....) pero actualmente es mi obsesión, amo este show y no importa que tan ocupada este todos los jueves y viernes enciendo el tele y pongo Sony y no me levanto por 2 horas. Me parece que es super entretenido, los concursantes super talentosos y los entrenadores super graciosos, amo la quimica que tienen! En 2 palabras LO AMO! I just don´t know how I haven´t come across this before (probably college, work, responsibilities and so on) but I'm just obsessed with this show right now and it doesn’t matter how busy I am, every Thursday and Friday I will sit in front of the T.V, tune on Sony and won´t get up for the next 2 hours. I think the contestants are super talented and the coaches super funny, I love their chemistry! In three words: I LOVE IT!!

  La música es simplemente parte importante de mi vida y no puede faltar en mi día. Si fuera por mi hago un Top 100 porque siempre estoy escuchando música y cantando, es parte de mi personalidad y todo quien me conoce sabe que no miento. Quería compartir esto con ustedes y si les gusta tanto la música como a mi espero que escuchen estas canciones y a estos grupos y se alegren la vida un poquito!  Music is just a big part of my life and I need it every day. If it was up to me I would give a Top 100 because I am always listening to music and singing, it is just part of who I am and if you know me you know I am not lying. Outfit Idea for a special morning event* Idea de atuendo para una ocasión especial de día!!!

Hola a todos!!! El día de hoy voy a compartir con todas las chicas un atuendo que use para  la graduación de mi novio y con el cual recibí muchos comentarios positivos. Pueden escoger las piezas que mas les gusten y adaptarlas a su estilo y crear sus propias ideas o atuendos personalizados. A mi en lo particular me gusta mucho buscar ideas de atuendos y después usarlos como inspiración y personalizarlos por lo que creo que esto puede ser útil. Hello everybody! Today I have an outfit idea that I wore for my boyfriend's graduation and for which I got lots of compliments. You can pick the pieces you like the most and adapt them to your own styles and create your own ideas and personal outfits. I just love to look for outfit ideas and then adapt them to my style and use them as inspiration and perzonalized them,; therefore I figured this could be a good idea!

• Floral Dress * Vestido con estampado floral: En estos momentos los estampados en general están muy de moda. En este caso escogí un vestido blanco de manga 3 cuartos con un estampado floral en rojos y rosados. La tela del vestido va siendo una clase de encaje lo que hace que se vea aun mas femenino y delicado. He usado este vestido con tacones cuña, sandalias o zapatos de muñeca. Todo va a depender de que tan formal quieres que se vea y a cual evento vas a asistir. Esta clase de vestidos en lo personal me fascinan porque no son pegados al cuerpo pero complementan tu figura ya sea que tengas curvas como yo o seas mas delgadita. Le agregue un cinturón en color camel para enfatizar mi cintura. Ambos los compre en la tienda Mui Mui que es una Plus Zise Store que tiene muchísimas opciones divinas para las que no somos talla 0. Me gusto tanto que lo compre en 2 tonos , blanco y negro, para así poder usarlos para diferentes eventos y horas del día. No hay día que me ponga uno de estos vestidos y no reciba un comentario de cuan hermoso es el vestido así que si tienen la oportunidad de buscar algo similar y va con su estilo se los recomiendo ya que como dije antes esta clase de vestidos se pueden adaptar para diferentes eventos y es una opción genial para aquellas que no les gustan usar muchos accesorios ya que el vestido por si solo ya llama bastante la atención. All the prints are very in right now; therefore I picked a floral print dress with details in red and pink. The fabric of this dress comes across a little bit like lace which makes it even more feminine and delicate. I have paired this with wedges, sandals and flats depending on how formal you want your outfit to look and where are you going. These types of dresses are my obsession because they look good on both curvy and skinny girls. I added a camel belt to give emphasis to my waist. Both items are from a plus size store called Mui Mui where you can find tons of gorgeous options for those girls like me that are not size 0 and want to look trendy. I loved this dress so much I got it in 2 different colors so I can choose when and where to wear them. There is not a day in which I'm wearing these dresses and I don´t get tons of positive compliments on it, so if you have the chance to get a similar one and it suits your style I recommend you to get it since it is very in right now and can be adapted for different events. This is also a great option for those girls that don't like to use tons of accessories since the dress by itself catches people’s attention.

• Camel Wedges * Zapatos tacón cuña en color camel: Para esta ocasión como el evento era de día decidí usar unos zapatos tacón cuña en color camel (similar al de mi cinturón). Si el evento fuera de noche probablemente hubiese usado un zapato de tacón cerrado, pero para eventos durante el día especialmente si es verano y hay sol me gusta usar esta clase de zapatos porque me parecen que contribuyen a que el atuendo se vea mas natural. Ademas, para las que como yo tienen a caerse bastante el tacón cuña es una buena alternativa para tener un poco mas de soporte. Estos los compre en Payless Shoe Source  y se pueden usar con jeans, short y toda clase de vestidos durante el verano por lo que considero son una buena opción de compra que esta a la moda y sea al mismo tiempo cómoda.  For this event, I paired the floral dress with a camel wedges (similar to my belt). If this event was a night event I  probably would've picked a different type of high hill shoe but for this kind of morning events on summer I love to use wedges because I feel this makes the outfit look more natural and effortless. Also, if like me you tend to fall a lot then wedges are a good choice because they give a better support to your feet. I got these in Payless Shoe Source and they can also be worn with jeans, shorts or any type of summer dress which makes me consider them as a great option that is both comfortable and trendy.

• Light Pink Purse * Bolso Palo Rosa: Decidí usar este bolso que es de color palo rosa (el cual compre recientemente) ya que combinada con el tono de algunas rosas del vestido. Desde que lo vi en la ventana de la tienda me gusto muchísimo porque no es ni muy grande ni muy pequeño por lo que puedes llevar todo lo que necesites para esta clase de eventos ( maquillaje, cámara, chicles,perfume etc) sin andar cargando una maleta de mano. El bolso es de un tomo súper lindo y delicado y le da al atuendo un toque bastante femenino y delicado. I decided to use this light pink purse (which I recently got) since it matched some of the roses in the dress. Since I saw it ion the window display it was love at first sight because its size is just perfect, not too big but not too small. You can carry everything you need for this type of events (makeup, Camara, gum, perfume, etc.) without carrying a big bag. The tone of the purse is gorgeous and gives the outfit a very nice feminine, delicate touch.

• Accesories * Accesorios: A lo ultimo agregue accesorios a mi atuendo. En lo personal no soy de usar muchos accesorios. En este caso usas unas cuantas pulseras que compre en mi mas reciente viaje a NYC que son de J.Crew, así como un reloj de Aeropostale en color camel también  Ademas de eso agregue un anillo simple en tono rosado claro y listo. Como explique antes, los vestidos con estampados ya llaman bastante la atención así que la clave es usar pocos accesorios que simplemente complementen el vestido y que no vengan a recargar el atuendo. En lo simple esta la elegancia asi que no abusen con los accesorios. The last part is the accessories. Personally, I do not wear tons of accessories. I used a couple of bracelets that I got in my most recent trip to NYC from J. Crew and an Aeropostale watch with a camel strap. I also used a simple light pink ring and that is it! Like I said before, printed dresses are the focus of attention of the outfit so the key is to use minimal accessories that complement the dress and not make the outfit too busy. Keep  it simple is the key to keep it elegant, so do not abuse of accessories please.
  
  
  
  Espero puedan encontrar inspiración en este atuendo para futuros eventos que tengan y lo puedan personalizar y hacer que refleje su personalidad que es lo mas importante. Para mi la clave de cualquier atuendo es vestirse adecuadamente para la ocasión y saber cuando decir "es suficiente". Espero poder en futuras entradas dar ideas para otra clase de eventos para que puedan inspirarse y tener mas opciones! I hope you guys can find inspiration in this outfit for future events and that you can personalize it and make it your own which is the most important thing. For me the key for any outfit is to dress accordingly to the event and know when to say “it is enough". In future posts I will try to give ideas for different occasions so you can get inspired and have more options!

My Night Routine* Mi Rutina Nocturna

Hola a todos!! Hoy voy a compartir con ustedes mi rutina nocturna para cuidar la piel de mi cara! Esto es bastante útil y necesario si así como yo ustedes se maquillan todos los días o si simplemente quieren asegurarse de estar cuidando su rostro como se debe para prevenir problemas con los años. Hello everybody! Today, I'm going to share my skincare night routine! This is very useful if just like me, you guys put on makeup every day or if you just want to take care of your face to prevent any issues that may come with the years.

1. Toallitas desmaquillantes Nivea Visage y toallitas desmaquillantes para ojos de ALMAY * Nivea Visage makeup remover towelettes and eye makeup remover pads from ALMAY: Lo primero que hago todas las noches es quitarme el maquillaje de mis ojos con las toallitas desmaquillantes para ojos de ALMAY que contienen pepino y no tienen fragancia; me gusta hacer esto primero porque ahí es donde ponemos mas maquillaje y es importante quitarlo todo. Estas toallitas son súper buenas y útiles para quitar las macara de pestañas especialmente si usan una formula contra agua. Después de esto simplemente tomo una toallita desmaquillante de Nivea Visage para piel sensible y remuevo el maquillaje del resto de mi cara. Ambos productos los pueden encontrar en la mayoria de los supermercados y farmacias y andan ambos por 4000 colones o menos. The first thing I do every night is remove my eye makeup with the oil free eye makeup remover pads from Almay with cucumber. I like to remove my eye makeup first because here is where we normally use more products. These pads are really good to remove mascara if you use a waterproof formula. After that, I just use a makeup remover towelette from Nivea Visage for sensitive skin to remove the rest of the makeup in my face. Both products can be found in any supermarket or drugstore and are around $8 each.  
   
   
   
   
   
2. Nivea Visage Exfoliante Facial* Nivea Visage Clean Deeper: Una vez que ya mi cara esta libre de maquillaje procedo a exfoliarme con el gel limpiador de Nivea Visage con extracto de Magnolia y microesferas limpiadoras. Esto limpia nuestro rostro profundamente y se deshace de cualquier impureza que aun tengamos en nuestra cara y que este a un nivel no tan superficial como el maquillaje. Simplemente mojamos nuestro rostro, aplicamos un poco del gel hasta que haga espuma y lo enjuagamos con agua fría que va a servir como tonificador. Si nunca han usado un exfoliante es importante considerar que la primera semana lo que el gel va a hacer es quitar cualquier impureza y mas bien nuestro rostro se va a brotar un poco pero ya después van a notar la diferencia en su cara. Este producto se encuentra también en cualquier supermercado o farmacia pero si es un poco mas caro, cerca de 7000 colones, pero como solo necesitamos aplicar un poco en nuestro rostro mojado dura bastante. After I have removed all the makeup from my face I use an exfoliator from Nivea Visage with magnolia extract and cleaning microspheres. This will clean deeply our skin from any impurity in our face that is not in a superficial level as makeup. We just have to apply a small amount of the gel on our wet face till it creates lather and then rinse it off with cold water which will work to tone our face. If you have never used as exfoliator you have to keep in mind that this will remove any filths in our face therefore the first week you will definitely see outbreaks but this will get better with time and you will see the difference in your face. You can also find this in any supermarket or drugstore but it is a bit more expensive, around $14, but since we use just a little bit every night it lasts a long time.
   
3. Nivea Visage Soft y Nivea Visage Aclarado Natural * Nivea Visage Soft and Nivea Visage Natural Lighter:  Siempre que usamos un exfoliante es importante tomar en cuenta que esto puede secar nuestra piel porque de una u otra forma le estamos quitando nutrientes que se van con las impurezas. Por esta razón, es importante usar una crema humectante después de usar el exfoliante como estas dos. Ambas son de Nivea y sirven para la cara y el cuerpo. La Nivea Soft no tiene ninguna fragancia y es simplemente una crema hidratante que tiene una contextura los suficientemente ligera para ponerla en nuestro rostro y la Nivea Aclarado Natural también es humectante pero se supone que ayuda a aclarar cualquier decoloración en nuestra piel que no nos guste. La ultima tiene extractos de mora y si tiene una fragancia un poco mas fuerte pero huele bastante bien. Ambas se encuentran en cualquier supermercado o farmacia y son super accesibles, 2000 colones cada una. Every time we use an exfoliator we need to take into account that this may leave our skin a bit dry because in one way or another we are removing nutrients from out face with the gel. For this reason we need to use a moisturizer after we are done exfoliating our faces. Both creams are from Nivea and can be used in your face or body. Nivea Soft is meant mainly to hydrate and is fragrance free but has a light enough consistency to apply on the skin and Nivea Natural Lighter is mean to clear out any discoloration in our skin we do not like. The last one has a more noticeable fragrance because it has berry extract but it smells very good. Both can be found in any supermarket or store and are very accessible, about $4 each.
   
4. Eye Contour Gel Oriflame: Este gel contiene vitamina E y se pone en la piel alrededor de los ojos. Esta parte de nuestro rostro tiene una piel muy delgada por lo que es bastante sensible y se decolora o se pone de otros colores con la fata de sol y sueño. Por ende, es buena idea usar un gel especialmente para esta zona que nos ayude a hidratarla y disminuir las ojeras o la hinchazón de los ojos. Este gel es de Oriflame que es una marca de productos que se venden por catalogo, si conocen a alguien que los venda simplemente lo buscan en el catalogo o pueden entrar a la pagina de internet también. This gel contains Vitamin E and you should apply it in the eye contour area. The skin around our eyes is very thin which makes it very susceptible to discoloration or dark circles due to the lack of sleep or sun. 5. Vaseline Lip Therapy: Finalmente, termino mi rutina aplicando este bálsamo para labios secos de Vaseline que los mantiene hidratados y previene los labios secos. Si usamos mucho brillo o pintura de labios es súper importante asegurarnos que nuestros labios estén protegidos e hidratados. Esta es una formula avanzada que considero es súper súper buena, van a ver cambios en una semana. La pueden conseguir en cualquier supermercado o farmacia y cuesta como 1500 colones y dura mucho tiempo. Finally, I finish my nigh skincare routine by applying the Vaseline Lip Therapy for chapped, dry lips. If we use a lot of lip gloss or lipstick we need to keep our lips hydrated and protected. This is an advanced formula that I consider to be very effective. You will see changes in your lips in a week. You can find these in any supermarket or drugstore and they are around $3 and last forever.
   
   
   

He aprendido que nuestra piel hay que cuidarla mucho ya sea que usemos o no maquillaje. Cada vez que salimos nuestra piel se ve contaminada por el medio ambiente y ademas de eso le ponemos maquillaje y bloqueamos nuestros poros lo que no la deja respirar. Una rutina como esta es necesaria para tener una piel mas saludable por mas tiempo. Yo honestamente no tenia una rutina y decidí hacer una basada en muchos vídeos y publicación sobre la salud de nuestra piel. AL principio es un poco tedioso pero luego se vuelve parte de la rutina y una vez que se ven los cambios no se vuelve atrás! I have learned that we need to take care of our skin whether we use makeup or not. Each time we go out our skin gets contaminated by the environment and on top of that we put on makeup not allowing it to breath. A routine like this one is necessary in order to have a healthier and better looking skin for a longer time. At the beginning this can be a bot boring but with time it becomes routine and after you see the results you will not go back!

SURPRISE FRIDAY!!! * VIERNES SORPRESA!!!

Todos los viernes voy a tratar de hacer publicaciones que no sean tan relacionadas con el maquillaje y moda o tan femeninas!!! Por eso hoy lo vamos a dedicar a los hombres y para eso solicite la participación de mi hermano @Renzo Avila  sobre las cosas o productos que son esenciales para él y con las cuales no podría vivir sin!!! Empecemos!!  Every Friday I will try to blog about things that are not too related to makeup and fashion or too girly!! That is why today I asked my brother's help +Renzo Avila  regarding the things or products he cannot live without!! Let's Start!

1. Chaqueta de cuero y camisas blancas de cuello en V * Leather jackets and white V-neck t-shirts:  Como sus prendas de ropa favoritas están una chaqueta de cuero color camel y múltiples camisas blancas de cuello en V, ya sea de manga larga o corta. Porque? Bueno, las camisas blancas combinan con todo y son súper practicas y la chaqueta de cuero se puede usar con jeans o un pantalón de otra tela y hace que cualquier outfit se vea mas formal y mejor (ambas las compro en ZARA). As part of his favorite clothing items he has a leather jacket and multiple V-neck t-shirts. Why? Well, he considers white V-neck t's go with everything and are super practical and easy to wear and the leather jacket can be worn with jeans or pants and makes any outfit look more formal and put together (both items are from ZARA) ! 
   
   
   
2. Botas * Boots: Cuando se trata de zapatos, él cree que todos deberían de tener un par de botas en su closet, o por lo menos para él son necesarias. Las botas no solo están muy de moda sino que son bastante cómodas y resistentes, dependiendo de donde las compren y el uso que les den un par de botas pueden duras años (las botas en la foto son de CAT). When it comes to shoes, he considers that every man should have a pair of boots in their closet, or at least for him those are a must. The boots are not only very trendy right now but also depending on where you get them and how you wear them boots can last for years (the boots are from CAT). 
   
3. Billetera, perfume y faja * Wallet, perfume and belt: Cualquier otra cosa se puede quedar en la casa (incluso el celular según él) pero no su billetera. Consejo de mi parte, los hombres deben invertir un poco mas que las mujeres en sus billeteras ya que ellos las usan en su bolsa trasera todo el tiempo y están mas expuestas así que se destruyen mas rápido; por lo que es mejor invertir en una de cuero o buen material que sea mas duradero ( la billetera es American Eagle).  El perfume favorito de mi hermano es Swiss Army Classic y es prácticamente el único que usa a diario ( huele delicioso por cierto). Renzo considera que el perfume es bastante importante por eso hay que invertir en uno que dure todo el día y que sea de buena calidad, este en particular es bastante accesible (cerca de 30 mil colones). Por ultimo tenemos la faja, él prefiere una faja de cuero (puede ser imitación) que se pueda usar con ropa mas casual o con ropa mas formal, ademas cree que la faja le da un toque extra a cualquier outfit que use ( la faja es Quicksilver).  Another thing that can never be forgotten is the wallet (this comes even before the cellphone according to him). A piece of advice, when it comes to wallets guys should invest a little bit more than girls because they usually carry them on their back pocket and it is more exposed which makes them last less; therefore, it is better to invest in one made of leather or a long lasting material (the wallet is from American Eagle). My brother's favorite perfume is Swiss Army Classic and he wears it almost daily (it smells delicious by the way). Renzo thinks that perfume is pretty important and that everybody should invest in a good perfume so the smell can last all day. This on e in particulas is pretty accesible and it costs aroun $60. Last but not least the belt, he prefers a leather belt (it can be fake leather) because he can use this with casual clothes or more formal. He also believes that belts give his outfit an extra something (the belt is from QuickSilver).
   

Así que ahí lo tienen!!! NYC PRODUCTS * COSMÉTICOS NYC

Hace 2 mese tuve la fortuna de poder viajar a New York City y a New Jersey a visitar a mi amada familia!!! :-) Entre las cosas que compre ( porque dicen por ahí que soy adicta a las compras :-$ ) pude conseguir algunos productos de belleza que me gustaría compartir con ustedes. Voy a ir uno por uno para que puedan ver que fue lo que compre y lo que pienso del producto!****** Two months ago I had the incredible opportunity to go to NYC and New Jersey to visit my lovely family!! As part of the things I purchased (apparently I have a shopping addiction according to some people :-$ ) I got a few beauty products that I would like to share with you all. I will review them individually and state what I think about them!

1. FACE PRIME (makeup primer and setting spray)* Victoria's Secret: Esto es lo que se conoce como una pre base para el maquillaje o como fijador para el maquillaje también. La idea es ponerlo antes de empezar a poner maquillaje en nuestra cara para que el mismo dure mas. También lo podemos poner después de haber aplicado la base en nuestra cara o como lo hago yo aplicarlo una vez que nuestro maquillaje este listo para que dure mas. Lo uso solo en ocasiones especiales (bodas, fiestas, fines de semana importantes) para que el maquillaje me dure mas y hasta el momento me gusta mucho. Lo compre en un outlet y me costo como $3 que son como 1500 colones costarricenses (una ganga). This functions as a face primer or setting spray for your makeup. The idea is to apply it before we put our makeup on so it can last longer. You can also apply it after doing your foundation routine or like me after your makeup is done so it lasts longer. I use this only on special days (weddings, parties, and special weekends) and so far so good! I bought this on an Outlet and got it for like $3 which in Costa Rican money is almost nothing so thumbs up!!!
   
2. Smart Shade and Color Stick * ALMAY: Compre este polvo compacto equilibrante de piel que se supone se adapta a tu color de piel perfectamente y un lápiz de sombras para ojos color marrón. En general la marca me gusta ya que esta hecho de ingredientes naturales y es para pieles sensibles, de hecho mi base y desmaquillante son de esta marca. Sin embargo, estos 2 productos no me convencieron mucho. Los polvos no tienen una buena cobertura y honestamente la contextura de las sombras no hacen fácil su aplicación, de hecho su color no se aprecia bien por su contextura. I got the skin balancing pressed powder and a shadow pen for brown eyes. In general I like these brand because it is made of natural ingredients and works on sensitive skin, in fact my foundation and makeup remover are from this brand. Nevertheless, I didn´t like these 2 products, the powder does not have a good coverage and the shadows due to their consistency are not easy to apply and the color loses strength due to that aspect as well.
   
3. Baby Lips* Maybelline New York: Esto son bálsamos para los labios que vienen con color y sabor. Cumplen el propósito de hidratar y dar un poco de color a los labios al mismo tiempo. Honestamente yo soy fan de este producto y lo recomiendo 1000%. Me parece que son bastante útiles como base para cualquier brillo que queramos usar o simplemente sino queremos usar nada mas en los labios con esto ya se ven hidratados y con color! Si recomiendo si tienen labios muy secos siempre buscar un bálsamo de labios que sea especifico para esto ya que los Baby Lips no son tan efectivos en esto. En Costa Rica no los he encontrado pero si en Amazon y si tienen familia o van de viaje por favor compren uno en cualquier supermercado o farmacia! Cuestan como $3 y son increíbles. These are lip balms with a bit of color and flavor on them. They have the function of any other lip balm plus the tint of color. Honestly, I'm a huge fan of these products and I recommend it a 1000%. I believe they are super useful as a base for any lip gloss we want to wear or perfect for those days when we don´t want to wear any so we still have our lips looking hydrated and colorful. If you have really dry, chapped lips I do recommend you to use a lip balm meant for this purpose since the baby lips are not meant for this. In C.R I haven't been able to find them but Amazon sales them and if you have family or are traveling soon please get one in any supermarket or drugstore!
   
4. Dream Fresh BB cream and Mega Plush Volume Express*Maybelline New York: La primera es por asi decirlo un balsamo de belleza para la cara. Este producto cumple 8 funciones en 1 y sirve como base, tambien humecta y protege contra el sol y da luminosidad a la cara. En particular me gusta mucho porque es como una base pero con una contextura muchísimo mas ligera pero con la misma cobertura y protege de los efectos del sol (me arrepiento de haber comprado solo una ). El segundo es una mascara de pestañas que aumenta el volumen. Ya la había comprado en algún momento y me gusto tanto que tenia que comprar otra, las pestañas se ven naturales, con mas volumen y la formula contra agua es bastante buena! La mascara de pestañas si se encuentra en C.R pero la crema no! 
   The first one is what they call a beauty balm for your face. This product is an 8 in 1 product that blurs imperfections, hydrates, has SPF and brightens the face. I love this because it works as a foundation for your face with a lighter consistency but same coverage (I regret getting just 1). The second one is mascara for the eyelashes that gives volume. I had purchased one before and had to get it again this time, the eyelashes look natural and with volume and the waterproof formula is very good. You can find the mascara in C.R but not the BB Cream.
   
5. Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain *  REVLON: Estos son lapices labiales humectantes con color y has bastantes tonos a escoger. En esta ocasión compre los siguientes colores lovesick  (020) y romantic (045) que son un fucsia y un rojo porque eran los colores que quería conseguir. Tienen un aroma a menta que no me gusta mucho pero en general en cuanto a color, duración y consistencia me gustaron bastante y los he visto en muchos supermercados en Costa Rica así que si quieren probarlos los recomiendo 100%. 
   These are balm stains that hydrate and give color and there are lots of shades to pick from. I got the shades lovesick (020) and romantic (045) which are a fuchsia color and a red one because those are the colors I was looking for. They a have a mint scent that I don´t like much but in terms of lasting color, shade and consistency I really like them. I have seen them in lots of supermarkets in C.R so if you like them I recommend you to try them out a 100%!!
   
6. Joystick Lip Lacquer * KHROMA BEAUTY: Este va siendo una cosa similar a los anteriores y el color es shocking pink. Había oído hablar mucho de esta marca de maquillaje que es de las hermanas Kardashian y un día antes de volver fui a CVS y decidí comprar algo para probar la linea. Tengo que decir que es uno de mis productos favoritos, el color es increíble, el aroma es delicioso y dura por horas, definitivamente si vuelvo a viajar voy comprar mas productos de esta marca. En Costa Rica no he visto y he buscado hasta el cansancio pero si viajan y ven un puesto de esta marca compren algo y se los aseguro no se van a decepcionar. This is a lot similar to the ones before and the color is shocking pink. I had heard about this brand a lot from the Kardashian sisters and one day before I came back I saw it on CVS and decided that I had to try it out. I have to say that I LOVE IT! It is one of my favorite products I got on the trip, the color is amazing, the smell incredible and it lasts forever!! I haven't seen this brand in C.R but if you travel and come across it please please get something, you will not regret it!
   
   
   
   Espero consideren esto a la hora de comprar ciertos productos o si van de viaje y pueden conseguir algunos también! Mi marca favorita es definitivamente Maybelline New York, siempre tiendo a traer mas productos de esa marca pero KHROMA esta bastante cerca! Si viajan a Estados Unidos Target y CVS Pharmacy son mis lugares favoritos para comprar maquillaje y pueden descargar las aplicaciones en sus tabletas o teléfonos y comprar en linea también! I hope this helps you when buying certain products or if you travel and want to get some of them too! My favorite brand has to be Maybelline New York, somehow I always end up with a lot of products from that brand, but KHROMA is definitely close! In the United States my favorite places to get makeup are Target and CVS Pharmacy and you can also download these apps in your tablets or smartphones to get the products online!!!

Beauty? * Belleza?

Antes de empezar a escribir sobre otros temas quería escribir sobre lo que en realidad "Be You" significa para mi. Todos hemos luchado en algún momento contra el concepto de belleza y honestamente la mayor parte de las batallas las hemos perdido. Pensar que somos los únicos que nos sentimos así es un error, porque todos los días en todos los continentes, en todos los países y en todas las ciudades hay personas que quedan tendidos en el piso después de esta pelea contra nosotros mismos y contra la sociedad que nos llena la cabeza de falsos conceptos y realidades. Yo, bueno yo he tenido mis muchas batallas al respecto y muchísimas veces he acabado tendida en el suelo también. Sin embargo, siempre me levante y hoy en día lo sigo haciendo después de caerme de nuevo. Cada golpe que nos llevamos en la vida deja una marca, una señal, una cicatriz, para que? Para que recordemos lo que en algún momento nos causo tristeza y hoy se convierta en fuente de fortaleza. Por eso, hoy yo les digo que la belleza va muchísimo mas allá del peso, de la estatura, de el dinero, de la ropa, de las revistas, del maquillaje y de la moda. La belleza esta adentro de cada uno, la belleza soy yo, la belleza eres tú, la belleza somos todos. Cuántos hay en el mundo igual a ti? Con tus ojos, boca, nariz? Con tu cabello rizado o lacio? Con tu sonrisa, con tu mirada, con tu voz? Con tu espíritu, tu alma, tu capacidad de amar? La respuesta: Solo 1..... TÚ! Así que busca las cosas que te hacen único y empieza a trabajarlas y resaltarlas. ¿Porque te gustaría ser como alguien más? Dale a los demás lo que no tienen que TÚ si y empieza a ver en el espejo el verdadero reflejo de cuan valioso eres! Trabaja de adentro para fuera y te darás cuenta que una vez que descubriste quien eres, sabrás que no va a ver nadie en el mundo que sea igual de hermoso que tú porque no hay nadie como tú! Se único, se feliz, se valiente, se tú mismo, se HERMOSO!!! Cuan hermoso? Bueno mi amigo, eso depende de TI!!!

Before I begin writing about other things, I want to share with you guys what "Be You" really means to me. Every single one of us has fought at some point against the concept of beauty and let's be honest.... most of the times we have lost. Thinking that we are the only one feeling this way is a mistake because every day tons of people in different continents, countries and cities end up on the floor after a fight against themselves and against the society that has filled up our minds with fake concepts and realities. Me, well I have had my fair share of battles about it and have ended up on the floor too. Nevertheless, I always got up and I keep doing it every time I get knocked down again. Every hit we have received in life, every mark, every scar, what is it for? So we can look at them and remember what once caused us pain and turn it into strength to keep going. That is why today I'm telling you guys that beauty goes beyond weight, high, money, clothes, magazines and fashion. Beauty is within us, beauty is me, beauty is you, and beauty is us. How many people are there like you? With the same eyes, nose and mouth? With your curly or straight hair? With your smile, your look, your voice? With your spirit, soul and capacity of love? The answer: Just 1.... YOU! So look for all of those things that make you unique and start working on them and make them more visible. Why would you like to be like someone else? Give others what they don't have that you do and start looking to the truly reflection of your value in the mirror. Work in yourself from the inside out and once you figure out who you are, you will finally see that there is no one in the world as beautiful as you because there is no one like you! Be unique, be happy, be brave and BE YOU! BE*YOUTIFUL! How beautiful? Well my friend..... That is up to YOU!
