HAUL!!!! **** COMPRAS!!!!

HELLO! If you haven´t guessed it already I may have a bit of an issue in the shopping department. I purchased some new fashion related items latelty and thought I share them with you so you can check out my taste in clothes, trends and possible shopping stores you may want to check out. I will post some outfit ideas including these items so you have also some ideas on how to style them! Enjoy!

HOLA! Si aún no lo saben, yo tengo una pequeña adicción a las compras. En los últimos meses he comprado algunas prendas, zapatos, accesorios y pensé en compartirlos con ustedes  para que vean un poco mi estilo, tendencias y posibles lugares donde comprar que les interesen. También voy a postear en el futuro algunas ideas de como combinar estas piezas y que accesorios usar, etc. Disfruten!

• BAGS * BOLSOS: I purchased these 2 bags form the same store. I kind of go through phases when I like smaller bags then I want bigger ones. I picked these 2 bags because they have the perfect size to fit more than just your basics and it does not look like a  carry on. Lately I really enjoy bags that have the longer strap in case you want to change up the look a bit depending on the occasion. **** Ambos bolsos los compré en la misma tienda. Yo paso por diferentes facetas y aveces me gustan los bolsos pequeños y luego quiero bolsos más grandes. Escogí estos 2 bolsos porque siento que tienen el tamaño perfecto para cargar más que solo nuestros accesorios básicos pero no parecen una maleta de mano tampoco. Últimamente me gustan mucho los bolsos que tienen una correa de cuero más larga ya que nos permite usar el bolso de distintas formas si queremos que nuestro look se vea diferente.

• SHOES * ZAPATOS: Shoes, yeah the best part of shopping. I love shoes. I recently got this basic ankle booties, they dress up pretty much any outfit and are super comfortable so if you are not the kind of girl that likes high heels then you need some of these in as many colors as you want Where I live the weather is pretty warm so sandals are definitely a must. I recently picked these 2 pairs, right now the golden details are very in and I believe they add normal sandals a very unique and femenine touch. Lastly , I got these flats that are very in righ now. They are made out of faux leather and they are a combination between a flat and a sandal if you ask me but I just think that even though they are neutral they go with any outfit .*** Zapatos, si la mejor parte de ir de compras. Yo amo los zapatos. Recientemente me compre estas botas bajas color negro. Estas botas hacen formal cualquier outfit y son súper cómodas. Si son de esas chicas que como yo no usan mucho tacones altos entonces necesitan de estás en todos los colores posibles. En Costa Rica el clima es bastante cálido así que las sandalias son necesarias. Me compré estos dos pares. en estos momentos los zapatos con detalles en dorado están muy de moda, además me parecen le dan a unas simples sandalias un toque único y femenino. Finalmente me compré estos que están hechos como de cuero falso y son como una combinación entre sandalia y zapato de muñeca. Son zapatos neutrales pero que van con cualquier outfit.

• BOTTOMS * JEANS Y SHORTS: When it comes to bottoms I´m not a big fan of skirts so I basically go for jeans, shorts and pants. I think right now there are basic pieces that you need to have. When it comes to jeans and shorts ripped ones are totally a must now. They do not need to be super fitted either, baggy boyfriend jeans are also very in you just need to pick the style and color you like the most. Also, you need colored pants. They are always fun to combine and can make any simple top or outfit more interesting. I got a pair in a coral pink and a turquoise green, you can pick the ones in the color you feel more comfortable with of course but these 2 colors are very in right now. *** Cuando se trata de partes inferiores no soy gran fan de las faldas, así que básicamente siempre elijo  jeans, shorts y pantalones. En estos momentos hay piezas básicas que son necesarias en nuestro closet. Cuando se trata de los jeans y shorts, los rasgados son totalmente imprescindibles. No tienen que ser súper tallados, los jeans holgados están también muy de moda,  sólo tienes que escoger el estilo y el color que más te guste. También necesitas los pantalones de colores. Estos son muy divertidos para combinar y pueden hacer cualquier top simple u outfit más interesante. Los más nuevos que compre son rosa coral y verde turquesa, pueden elegir el color con el que se sientan más cómodas por supuesto, pero estos 2 colores están muy de moda en este momento.

• FASHION TOPS * CAMISAS: You can wear the same pants all week and make it look completely different depending on the top you decide to wear. When it comes to tops your personality definitely comes true. Therefore you don´t have to follow any trends you feel don´t fit with your style. I recently purchased 4 different fashion tops for different occasions. I personally really like the whole relaxed, a bit boho, vibe in clothes. I also have my very girly side so I also tend to pick floral prints too. Lace details are also very in and I believe combine both my boho and girly style in the same piece. Comfy sweathers are also a must during the winter time.For this time of the year colors like wine, red, green and grey are perfect for the weather. *** Puedes usar los mismos pantalones toda la semana y hacer que se vean completamente diferentes dependiendo de la blusa que decidas usar. Cuando se trata de topsnuestra  personalidad sin duda se va a reflejar. Por lo tanto, no tienes que seguir las tendencias que sientes NO encajan con tu estilo. Recientemente compré 4 blusas para diferentes ocasiones. Personalmente, me gusta mucho el estilo relajado, un poco bohemio, en la ropa. Sin embargo,  también tengo mi lado muy femenino, así que también tiendo a elegir los estampados florales. Los detalles de encaje están también muy de moda y creo que combina mi estilo femenino y bohemio en la misma pieza. Las suetas flojas también so súper necesarias en invierno. Para esta época del año los colores como el vino, rojo, verde y gris son perfectos para el clima.

NEW PRODUCTS *** PRODUCTOS NUEVOS

Hi Guys! Like I promised Fridays’ posts will be about beauty and fashion. Today I wanted to share with you my review on some new products that I have been using for a few months now and that I picked up on my trip to Houston, Texas in February. Some of them we can find in Costa Rica, some other we cannot but if you travel or have a chance to get a hold of some of them then this is my opinion about them! Enjoy! **** Hola a todos! Tal y como lo prometí los viernes son dedicados a belleza. El día de hoy voy a darles mi opinión sobre algunos productos nuevos que he estado usando durante los últimos meses y que compré en mi viaje a Houston, Texas en febrero. Algunos se pueden encontrar en Costa Rica, otros no, pero si se van de viaje, los ven y se los quieren comprar pues aquí esta mi opinión al respecto. Disfruten!

Almay Smart Shade: This is a skin tone matching makeup with SPF 15. I would say this is like a BB or CC cream not a foundation. It looks a bit white when you take it out of the container but once you apply this to your face it changes the color and adapts to your skin. I would recommend using your fingers for this since the warmth of your skin will help with the application. Overall, I liked it and believe it is a good option if you don´t like to wear foundation on a daily basis but its coverage it is not as good  and its SPF as high as for example my BB cream from Maybelline. ****  Este es un maquillaje para el rostro que se adapta a tu tono de piel con FPS 15. Se podría decir que es como un bálsamo de cara no base. Cunado la sacas del contenedor parece crema blanca pero una vez que lo aplicas en tu cara puedes ver como se activa y se adapta al color de tu piel.  Yo recomendaría usar los dedos para aplicarla ya que el calor de nuestra piel va a ayudar en el proceso. En general me gusto y es una buena opción si no les gusta usar base a dirario. Sin embargo, en cuanto a cobertura o grado de protección solar no le gana a mi BB Cream de Maybelline.

Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser: This is a primer that is supposed to minimize your pores and smooth your skin to create a good base for the rest of your makeup. I’m not a 100% convinced of how significant the pore minimizer part is but it definitely leaves your skin super smooth and helps your makeup stay longer plus it was really cheap around $5. If you ever come across it in a supermarket of drugstore don´t hesitate to grab it. *** Esta es una pre base que se supone minimiza la apariencia de tus poros y deja tu cutis suave para crear una mejor base para tu maquillaje. No estoy 100% segura de que tanto disminuye la apariencia de los poros pero definitivamente si deja el cutis super suave y ayuda a que el maquillaje dure todo el día, además de que es bastante accesible en precio. Si alguna vez lo ven en el supermercado o farmacia no duden en comprarlo.

Milani Baked Blush: I talked about these in the last product post I made. These blushes are by far my favorites at the moment; they are simply gorgeous and leave your skin with a beautiful glow. They are so popular that almost everywhere I went they were sold out. Last Christmas I got 2 different shades, one in pink and the other one in coral, this time I decided to go for a bronze. If you see them please please purchase one, you will fall in love I swear.*** Ya había hablado anteriormente de estos rubores en alguna de las entradas anteriores. En estos momentos son mis favoritos. Simplemente son preciosos y dejan la piel con un brillo súper lindo. Son tan populares que donde sea que los buscaba están agotados. En navidad compre uno en tono rosado y otro en coral. Esta vez decidí irme por un color bronce. Si los ven por favor no duden en comprarlos! Se van a enamorar de ellos lo prometo!

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder-Rimmel Match Perfection Blush: I had heard so much in YouTube about this brand and its products, specially their stay matte powder that I had to try them out. I grab the powder and then saw the blush and decided to give it a try as well. They are as good as people say they are! The powder gives you a very natural matte finish and the blush has three different tones that are meant to match your skin tone so it looks super natural. This contrary to the Milani blushes is pretty matte which is also nice to use every once and a while when you want your look to be more natural. I recommend this a 100%.**** Había escuchado tanto en YouTube  de esta marca y en especial de sus polvos de cara que tenía que probarlos. Inicialmente iba solo por los polvos pero vi el rubor y decidí probarlo también. Son tan buenos como todos los describen. Los polvos dejan tu cara mate pero natural y el rubor trae 3 colores que al mezclarlos  hace el color perfecto para tu piel y se ve súper natural. Contrario a los rubores de Milani que tienen brillos este es mate lo cual esta bien porque de vez en cuando es bueno usar esta clase de rubores para looks mas naturales. Los recomiendo al 100%.

Rimmel Scandaleyes Precision Micro Eyeliner: Again trying more products from the Rimmel brand. This eyeliner is amazing! It has a super precise tip that allows you to line your eyes without the mess that some liquid eyeliners cause. It stays on forever and since it is a pen it won´t dry out or get a weird consistency in time. If you like to wear winged eyeliner you need this.*** Vamos a seguir probando productos de esta marca. Este delineador es muy muy bueno. Tiene una punta súper fina que permite que nos delineemos los ojos sin los problemas que un delineador líquido a veces causa. Es muy duradero y como es un lápiz es muy difícil que se seque o que su contextura cambie. Si les gusta hacerse delineados precisos en sus ojos definitivamente necesitan uno de estos.

Maybelline Dream Lumi Concealer: This is sold as a concealer but I would define it more as a highlighter so be careful cause if what you want is to cover your dark circles I recommend to try a different one ( Maybelline fit me concealer, Almay wake me up concealer) and use this one to highlight your skin in the areas that the sun will naturally hit your face. *** Este producto se vende como corrector pero para mí es más un iluminador así que hay que tener cuidado porque si lo que queremos es cubrirnos las ojeras entonces les recomiendo usen uno diferente (Fit Me de Maybeline o Wake Me Up de Almay) y usen este para iluminar en su rostro esas áreas en las que naturalmente el sol iluminaría su piel.

Cover Girl Clump Crusher Mascara: I heard a ton about this one and again I had to try it out and see if all the wonders were true. I purchased it in a dark brown and to be honest I believe it is indeed very good. It does a great job a separating your lashes, eliminating clumps of mascara and leaving them looking fuller than they really are.*** También había escuchado muchísimo de esta máscara de pestañas y decidí probarla para ver si era tan buena como decían. La compre en un café oscuro y para ser honesta me parece bastante buena. Hace un muy buen trabajo separando las pestañas y las deja sin ningún cúmulo de máscara de pestañas y les da mucho volumen.

Maybelline The Falsies Volume Express Mascara: This is another very popular mascara by Maybelline. I had used their mega plush mascara before and really liked it so I try this one out as well. It definitely does not leaves your eyes looking like you have false lashes but it is good. In general Maybelline´s waterproof formula is pretty good and your mascara will stay in place all day long even if you get wet but again I would not recommend getting in the pool with mascara either way. *** Esta máscara de pestañas también es bastante popular dentro de la línea de Maybelline. Ya yo tenía la Mega Plush y me gustaba bastante y decidí probar esta para compararlas. Definitivamente no te deja las pestaña con la apariencia de que sean falsas pero no es mala. En general Maybelline tiene una formula a prueba de agua que es bastante buena y dura todo el día y si uno se moja no se corre; claro no le recomiendo a nadie que se tire a una piscina con mascara de pestañas de cualquier forma.

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm: I had shown their just kissable lip balms in a previous post and when I saw they had matte ones I definitely needed to get some. These are amazing! Like I said before they last forever no matter what color, they are moisturizing and have a nice mint scent. The amount of shades they have is pretty large and the matte formula is incredible. Right now matte lips are a huge trend, if you want them then you MUST get these. All of them! *** Ya había dado mi opinión al respecto de estos bálsamos de color de Revlon y cuando vi que tenían una línea de tonos mate definitivamente tenía que probarlos.Son increíbles, duran todo el día sin importar que color uses, te hidratan los labios y tienen un olor a menta súper rico. La cantidad de colores que ofrecen es bastante amplia y su formula mate es muy muy buena. Los labios en colores mate están muy de moda así que si quieren pintarse sus labios de colores mate entonces necesitan estos en su colección de maquillaje.

Revlon Lip Butter: This is between a lip balm and a lipstick I would say because it does not have the same consistency of a lipstick but it has plenty of color to be a lip balm. I had high expectations on these because of their Colorbust line but to be honest for me is nothing out of the normal. I rarely see myself picking it up to wear it for the day but again it is not bad is just that I have better ones in my collection. *** Este producto es una mezcla entre un bálsamo y un lápiz labial porque no tiene la consistencia de un lápiz labial pero tampoco el color de un bálsamo. La verdad tenía altas expectativas ya que los bálsamos de labios me fascinan pero para ser honesta no es nada del otro mundo. Muy raramente me veo escogiendo este color todos los días cuando me maquillo. No es de mala calidad pero tengo mejores en mi colección de maquillaje.

 Almay Lip glosses and EOS lip balm: I´m discussing these together because that is how I usually wear them. I already shared a post on these Almay glosses as well but I like them so much that I decided to get some more shades. They are also supposed to moisturize your lips and leave your lips looking super natural plus their pigmentation is pretty spot on. In regards to the EOS lip balms they have come to substitute somehow my baby lips ones which I thought was never going to happen. These balms come in very nice flavors and keep your lips super healthy! I always have one in my purse! *** Voy a dar mi opinión de estos productos juntos porque usualmente así los uso. Ya había hablado antes del brillo de labios de Almay pero me gustan tanto que decidí comprar mas colores. Se supone que estos brillos te nutren los labios, te los dejan con un brillo natural y además sus colores son bastante pigmentados. En cuanto a los bálsamos de labios EOS, prácticamente han llegado a substituir a mis amados baby lips y jamás pensé que eso llegaría a pasar.  Estos bálsamos vienen en sabores súper ricos y dejan tus labios con una apariencia súper saludable. Siempre tengo uno de ellos en mi bolso.

Urban Decay Eye Primer Potion: This is sort of a high end brand if you ask me because their products are more expensive than those you find in a drugstore. Nevertheless, their quality is pretty amazing. To be honest I had never tried a eye premier before applying my eye shadows before this one. Let me tell you that once you do your life will just change. This keeps your eye shadows in place the entire day! I´m not kidding this thing is amazing and it is worth its price if you ask me. *** Esta marca es un poco más fina ya que sus precios son más caros que los productos de otras marcas que encontramos en los supermercados o farmacias.  Sin embargo, la calidad es increíble. Para ser honesta nunca había probado una pre base para las sombras de los ojos pero una vez que lo haces te cambia la vida. Esta pre base hace las sombras duren todo el día, de verdad no les miento cuando les digo que vale cada centavo de lo cuesta.

Urban Decay Naked Pallets: Ok, I have saved the best for last. I have wanted to get my hands around these for the longest time. Like I said Urban Decay is one of the priciest brands if you compare it with NYX, Maybelline, Almay, Revlon, etc… but they are well known for their naked pallets. They have right now 3 naked pallets in the market (of course they have a ton of other products or branches like the naked basics pallet) and each one is around $50. Each pallet has 12 different eye shadows and is meant to help create naked looks which means very natural looking ones. I wanted to purchase the three but I could not find the naked 2 pallet because it was sold out but I got the 3^rd which had just come out. What can I say about them? I have pretty much not used anything else since I got them. Their pigment is just incredible, the shades gorgeous and the package as well. The Naked 1 is the velvet one with more earthy tones and the 3^rd is the pink one that has all of those rose gold shades. They are a bit of an investment but they will last you forever and you can create so many different looks with them! I´m a big fan of their pallets and their primers, so if you ever come across a Sephora and see these or any other Urban Decay products that call your attention I encourage you to purchase them, they will worth the money! *** Bueno lo mejor para lo último.  No saben por cuanto tiempo he querido poder comprar una de estas paletas de sombras. Como dije anteriormente Urban Decay es una marca un poco más fina si las comparamos contra NYX, Maybelline, Almay, Revlon, etc pero son súper conocidos por sus paletas de sombra Naked. En estos momentos tienen 3 paletas en el mercado ( por supuesto tienen una variedad mas amplia de productos) y cada una cuesta alrededor de unos 25 mil colones. Cada paleta tiene 12 sombras y están hechas para crear maquillajes que se vean bastante naturales. De verdad iba con la intención de comprar las 3 pero la número 2 se había agotado, pero logré comprar la número 3 que acababa de salir al mercado. La verdad desde que las compré se puede decir que no he usado prácticamente ningún otro set de sombras. La pigmentación es increíble, los colores hermosos y el estuche también. La Naked 1 es muchísimo más neutral y con colores más tierra y cálidos y la Naked 3 viene con tonos mas palo rosa y dorado. En realidad son una inversión porque como dije no son baratas pero la cantidad de looks distintos que podemos crear con ellas son incontables. Puedo decir que Urban Decay es una de mis marcas de maquillaje favoritas y que les recomiendo que si alguna vez entran a un Sephora y ven ya sean estás paletas o cualquier otro producto que no duden en la calidad de lo que se están comprando porque vale el dinero que están pagando.

STRENGHTS!!! **** FORTALEZAS!!!

 Let me start by asking you the following question: Do you know what your strengths are? A very simple question right? But let’s be honest, not many can answer this question without thinking about it for a few minutes. Have you ever wonder why? Well, I believe as humans we are more focused on what we cannot do than in what we can. The truth is we get asked this question in many important situations and to know the answer may change our lives. I do think we normally have a good idea of what we are good at. For example, when I was in high school I had 2 subjects I always got 100´s at: English and Arts. It became very clear to me I was going to pick one of those once I got to college because it just made sense to pick something I knew I was going to feel comfortable with . I picked English and I could not have done a better choice. You see, I was right. Studying English was not easy but since I had an aptitude for it I kept on going. My love for languages got me exactly where I am today.  

In my current job my boss decided she wanted us to read a book and to take a quiz to find out what our strengths were. To be honest I was a bit skeptical at first just because there are a ton of books like it in the market. Nevertheless, once I started reading I found their approach very interesting. This book is divided in 2 different parts. The first part explains what the book is about and their methods by stating that you are more likely to succeed at that which you are good at than those things that you may like but find incredibly hard to perform. The second part is a quiz in which you are presented with 2 scenarios and you have to pick the one you relate to the most. Once you are done you will get 5 strengths numbered being 1 the strongest for you. Of course you will then find the description of that category, action ideas to make the best out of it and some advice on how to work with others that have the same strengths as you.

Basically, this was an eye opener because it made me realize so much about myself. I learned more about the skills I have and use all the time and it brought up some new ones I was not really aware off.  It was very amusing to read all of these descriptions and actually understand why I tackle certain things the way I do, why I make the decisions I make and why I like to do the things I do. It may sound a bit silly but having something telling you what you are best at can make a huge difference in terms of how you face certain situations because we normally tend to second guess ourselves, at least I do.

I decided to talk about this today because I realize that in this crazy and busy society we are forced to make decisions based on money or need and we may undermine the importance of enjoying what we do. Right now we are experiencing an economic crisis worldwide, people are scared and they compromise what they like for what they need to do. As a matter of fact, I truly believe that  what will determine if you get the job or not is how good you are at what you do, and that will be based on how much you like what you do which is  influenced by your strengths. So I encourage every single one of you to find out what you are good at, your strengths, those things that make you unique, that will make you stand out. The key thing to keep in mind is that even if others may share some of your strengths, you are the only one that can offer the group of strengths you own because no one has the exact same ones. So stop trying to be someone else, be you and just like Tom Rath says in his book Strengths Finder 2.0 

“You cannot be whatever you want to be - but you can be a lot more of who you already are”.

Voy a comenzar haciendo la siguiente pregunta: ¿Sabes cuáles son tus fortalezas? Una pregunta bastante sencilla pero seamos honestos, no muchos la pueden responder sin pensar algunos minutos al respecto. ¿Alguna vez te haz preguntado por qué? Bueno, yo creo que los seres humanos estamos más enfocados en lo que no podemos hacer que en lo que sí podemos. La verdad es que esta pregunta nos la hacen en muchas situaciones importantes y saber la respuesta puede cambiar nuestras vidas. Yo creo que normalmente tenemos una buena idea de en que somos buenos. Por ejemplo, cuando yo estaba en la secundaria tuve 2 materias en la que siempre sacaba 100: inglés y artes. Para mí  era claro que iba a escoger alguna de las 2 cuando llegara a la universidad porque tenía sentido escoger algo que me hiciera sentir cómoda. Escogí inglés y yo no podría haber hecho una mejor elección. Estudiar Inglés no fue fácil, pero como tenía aptitudes para ello seguí adelante. Mi amor por los idiomas me han llevado exactamente donde estoy hoy.

En mi trabajo actual mi jefa decidió que quería que leyéramos un libro y tomáramos un cuestionario para averiguar cuáles eran nuestras fortalezas. Para ser honesta, estaba un poco escéptica al principio porque hay muchos libros como este en el mercado. Sin embargo, una vez que empecé a leer me pareció que su enfoque era muy interesante. Este libro se divide en 2 partes. La primera explica de que trata el libro y sus métodos para demostrar que es más probable tener éxito en lo que tú eres bueno que en las cosas que te gustan pero encuentras difíciles de realizar. La segunda parte es un cuestionario en el que se presentan 2 situaciones y hay que escoger con el que más te identificas. Una vez terminado  obtendrás 5 fortalezas numeradas siendo 1 la más fuerte. En el libro podrás encontrar la descripción de esa categoría, ideas de acción para aprovecharla al máximo y algunos consejos sobre cómo trabajar con otras personas que tienen las mismas fortalezas que tú.

Básicamente, esto fue una revelación, ya que me hizo comprender mucho sobre mí misma. Aprendí más sobre las habilidades que tengo y utilizo todo el tiempo y conocí algunas nuevas que no estaba al tanto que tenía. Fue muy divertido leer todas estas descripciones y realmente entender por qué abordo ciertas cosas de la manera que lo hago, por qué tomo las decisiones que tomo y por qué me gusta hacer las cosas de cierto modo. Puede sonar un poco tonto, pero tener algo que te diga en que eres bueno puede hacer una gran diferencia en términos de cómo te enfrentas a ciertas situaciones porque normalmente tendemos a cuestionarnos a nosotros mismos, al menos yo lo hago.

Decidí hablar de esto hoy, porque me doy cuenta de que en esta sociedad tan agitada y ocupada nos vemos obligados a tomar decisiones basadas en el dinero o necesidad y podemos no darle la importancia suficiente a disfrutar de lo que hacemos. En este momento estamos experimentando una crisis económica en todo el mundo, la gente tiene miedo y sacrifica lo que  le gusta por lo que tiene que hacer. En realidad, yo creo que lo que va a determinar si se consigue el trabajo o no es que tán bueno eres en lo que haces, lo cúal se basa en cuánto te gusta lo que haces, y esto  está directamente influenciado por tus  fortalezas. Así que los animo a cada uno de ustedes para averiguar en que son buenos, sus fortalezas, esas cosas que los hacen únicos, que los va a hacer destacar. Hay que tener en cuenta que incluso si otros comparten algunas de tus fortalezas, tú eres el único que puede ofrecer el grupo de las fortalezas que posees, porque nadie tiene exactamente las mismas. Así que a dejar de tratar de ser otra persona, sé tu mismo y al igual que Tom Rath dice en su libro Strenght Finder 2.0

 "No se puede ser lo que quieras ser - pero puede ser mucho más de lo que ya eres".

I´M BACK!!! **** ESTOY DE VUELTA!!!!

First of all, I would like to apologize for being out of the picture for such a long period of time. At the end of last year I started a new job and after the holidays I found myself with too much to do and very few time to do it in and my blog suffer the consequences. I have missed it tremendously and have decided to get back into it because we need to make time for the things that make us happy! I have then decided to be a bit more organized and realistic and have decided to start with new posts every Wednesday and Friday. I will dedicate the days to different topics. On Wednesdays I will keep it short and will address more random topics. Fridays will be entirely dedicated to Fashion, makeup and beauty topics. I promise I´ll do my best to keep it up this time. En primer lugar me gustaría pedir disculpas por estar pérdida por un  período tan largo de tiempo. Al final del año pasado comencé un nuevo trabajo y después de las vacaciones me encontré con muchas cosas que hacer y muy poco tiempo para hacerlas y  mi blog sufrió las consecuencias.  Sin embargo lo he echado de menos increíblemente y he decidido volver a escribir  porque tenemos que hacer tiempo para esas cosas que nos hacen felices.  Entonces he decidido ser un poco más organizada y realista y comenzar con nuevas entradas todos los miércoles y viernes. Voy a dedicar los días a temas diferentes. Los miércoles voy a ser breve y voy a tratar temas más aleatorios. Viernes será enteramente dedicado a temas de moda, maquillaje y belleza. Holiday Outfits * Atuendos de Celebración

HOLA DE NUEVO!!! Un post mas para compensar. En esta ocasión decidí compartir con ustedes lo que pienso ponerme para estas fechas especiales. Espero que les guste. HELLO AGAIN! I decided to do one more post to make up for the time I was too busy to write. In this post I decided to share with you guys the outfits I will be wearing during this Holiday Season. I hope you enjoy this post.

• El primer atuendo que voy a usar es para la cena del 24 de Diciembre. Ya que en Costa Rica diciembre no es igual que frió que en otros países decidí usar un vestido que compre hace un mes mas o menos rosado con blanco, unos zapatos color camel y un bolso que le haga juego, dependiendo de si esta muy frió o no tal vez use una sueta no muy gruesa en color camel también. Para el cabello y el maquillaje voy a hacer un post luego con el look de cada uno.  The first outfit is the one I will wear on Christmas Eve. Since in Costa Rica the weather is not as cold in December like in other countries I will use a dress I got about a month ago white with hot pink. I will pair this with some camel wedges and a leather brown purse to match and depending on how cold it is a camel light sweater. For hair and makeup I will do a post later for each outfit.
  
• El segundo lo voy a usar el 25 de Diciembre ya que generalmente tengo cena con una familia el 24 y almuerzo con otra el 25. En este caso escogí una camisa color menta con estampado floral, unos jeans tubo azul oscuro y unas botas color camel. Ademas voy a usar un bolso también camel pero con barbas y unos detalles en metal. The second outfit will be for Christmas Day since I have lunch with my other part of the family on that day. I decided to wear a mint shirt with a floral print on it along some dark blue jeans and a pair of camel boots. I will also wear a camel purse with some details to complement.
  
• El tercero es para un evento familiar el 26 de Diciembre con toda mi familia que vino de visita. Es un almuerzo y no es super elgante asi que decidi usar una camisa que tiene un estampado de rosas por delante y la parte de atrás es tejida, por la misma razon llevo una camisa interna del mismo color de las rosas. Voy a complementarlo con jeans color celeste, unas sandalias con detalles en dorado y el bolso verde musgo que me regalo mi hermano para mi cumpleaños. For the third outfit that I will wear on the 26th in a family reunion I decided to paired a shirt that has a rose print in the front and knitted details on the back (that is why I will wear a tank top underneath) with some light blue jeans and some sandals with gold details. I will also use the green bag my brother gave me for my birthday.
  
• El cuarto es para el 31 de Diciembre. Este año creo que voy a ir a pasar año nuevo con la familia de mi novio en una zona montañosa que si es un poco mas fría. Por esta razón decidí usar este suéter con diseño tribal el cual compre esta semana. Ya que el suéter por si solo ya llama la atención voy a usar una camisa negra sencilla y unos jeans azul oscuro. Mis zapatos son unos botines negros y también voy a usar un bolso de cuero negro. The fourth outfit is for New Year's Eve. This year I think I will spend this Holiday with my boyfriend's family in the countryside which can be a little bit colder. Therefore, I will use this sweater with a tribal print on it that I got this week. Since the sweater already seems pretty busy I will use a plain black shirt, some dark blue pants, black wedges and a black leather purse.
  
• Finalmente, el primero de enero probablemente pase tiempo con mi familia y tengamos un almuerzo informal y veamos películas así que decidí usar una camisa color turquesa, unos jeans celestes con un diseño de flores en blanco y mis nuevas  botas color café con detalles en metal que no he podido dejar de usar. Finally, on January 1st I will probably grab lunch with my family and chill together watching movies. Therefore, I decided to wear a turquoise loose top, some light blue jeans with some white flowers on it and my new brown boots with metallic details that I haven't been able to take off.

Hola a todos! Mis disculpas por pasar tanto tiempo sin hacer un post nuevo pero he estado demasiado ocupada con el trabajo, el estudio y como es Navidad mi familia vino de visita. Aproveche que mi familia venia para pedir unos cuantos productos que acá no consigo y quería probar. Hello everybody! I'm really sorry it's been a while since I last posted something but I've been really busy with school and work and since is Holiday season my family came over to visit. I then decided to ask my family to get certain products that I can't find here and I really wanted to try out. 

1. Baby Lips Dr. Rescue: Como todos saben aqui no encuentro Baby Lips y como soy adicta pedi mas. Ahora Maybelline saco una version de Baby Lips que se llama "Dr. Rescue" y es medicado lo que quiere decir que sirve para labios super secos o cuando tenemos alguna ampollita o otra cosa en nuestros labios. Tiene como un olor mentolado y lo he estado usando todas las noches antes de ir a dormir y hasta el momento me gusta bastante. Like you all know I am addicted to Baby Lips and since I can't find any here I asked for some more. Maybelline just took out a special edition called "Dr. Rescue" which is a medicated version that helps with blisters and stuff in our lips, it has a menthol flavor and smell to it and so far so good, I've been using this every night before I go to sleep. This one is in Coral Crave 55.
   
2. Milano Baked Blushes: Una de las marcas que no he podido conseguir acá es Milani. He escuchado cosas super positivas de los rubores de esta marca y definitivamente quería probarlos. Conseguí 2 colores "Dolce Pink" 01 y "Luminoso" 05 que eran los colores que mas había oído hablar de y la verdad estoy super contenta porque sirven como rubor o iluminador y tienen un color bastante rico, definitivamente recomiendo comprar uno si en algun momento ven algo de la marca. One of the brands that I can't find here is Milani. I had heard lots of good things about their baked blushed and decided to try them out. I got 2 colors "Dolce Pink" 01 and "Luminoso" 05 which were the shades I had heard most of and I am actually pretty pleased with them since you can contour, shape and highlight with it and their pigment is actually pretty good. If you ever ran into this brand I would recommend you to grab at least one because you won't regret it.
   
   
   
   
3. Rimmel Scandaleyes eyeliner: Rimmel es otra marca que no se encuentra en Costa Rica y había oído muy buenos comentarios sobre sus delineadores de ojos por su textura y duración. Yo en lo particular me delineo mis ojos con negro todos los días así que pedí un lápiz color negro. Es super cremoso y tiene una pigmentación muy buena, esta versión es a prueba de agua lo que hace que de verdad dure casi todo el día , lo juro, así que definitivamente voy a sufrir cuando se acabe y por ende es otro producto recomendado. Rimmel is also one of the brands that I can't find in Costa Rica and since I had heard so many good comments regarding their scandaleyes eyeliners I decided to ask for a black one because I line my waterline with this color almost every day. It is actually really creamy and super pigmented and since this is a waterproof version the color lasts almost all day, I swear, and therefore is another recommended product for sure.
   

 Obviamente pedi Baby Lips normales y BB Cream también pero como ya había hecho un post sobre los mismos me parece ilógico usarlo de nuevo. Ademas pedí un joystick mas de la linea de maquillaje de las Kardashian ya que me fascino el que compre unos meses atrás en NYC pero al parecer a todas les gustan muchísimo porque estaban agotados en todas las farmacias y sucursales. I also asked for normal Baby Lips and BB Cream but since I had already posted about them I did not include them. I also asked for another Joystick from the Kardashian makeup line because I love the one I got in NYC but apparently everybody loves them as much as I do because they were sold out everywhere.

Birthday Presents!!! Regalos de Cumpleaños!!!

HOLA GENTE!!! La semana pasada me fue imposible compartir con ustedes porque entre la universidad y el trabajo casi me vuelvo loca. Sin embargo, el jueves pasado Dios me regalo otro año de vida y recibí varios regalos y pensé que seria buena idea compartirlo con ustedes y así darles ideas navideñas!!! Espero que lo disfruten! HELLO EVERYBODY! Last week was almost impossible to share with you guys because between the university and work I almost went nuts!! But it turns out that last Thursday it was my birthday and I got a few presents that I thought I would share with you so you can use as inspiration for Christmas presents! Hope you enjoy it!

1. Bolso Verde * Green studed bag: Este fue el regalo de parte de mi hermano +Renzo Avila. Fuimos de compras este fin de semana por el viernes negro y entramos a PRONTO y toda las tienda tenia un 25% de descuento. Desde hace algún tiempo venia buscando un bolso color verde musgo para un vestido en particular y cuando vi este no solo me pareció que tiene un tamaño bastante conveniente sino que también los detalles el dorado y el material me encantaron. Próximamente voy a escribir una entrada con ideas de outfits de mi closet y voy a incluir este bolso para que vean como lo combinaria en caso de que crean que este color es difícil de usar. This was my brother´s present. We went shopping this weekend for black Friday sales and we went into a store called PRONTO in C.R and all the store had a 25% off. I have been looking for a green bag for a while for a specific dress I own and when I saw this one not only did I like the size but the gold studs and the velvet material were awesome. This month I will make a post with outfit ideas from my closet and I will include this bag so you guys have an idea on how to wear this color in case you find it difficult. 
                  
   
   
   
2. Crema Bronceadora *Sun Kissed Bronze Instan Self-Tan lotion: Este fue uno de los regalos que me dio mi tía (ella también me regalo ropa pero como dije voy a dedicar un post solo a ropa mas adelante) y es una crema bronceadora de Victoria's Secret. Cabe recalcar que no es por así decirlo un bronceador sino una crema que al ponértela hace que tus piernas o cuerpo se vea con un poquito mas de color pero sin exagerar. Siempre es bueno tener una de estas cremas en caso de que tengamos un pasea a la playa y estemos super pálidas porque nos va a dar un poco de colore sin que se vea falso y ademas esta es la primera que tengo que huele riquísimo (como a coco) ya que otras marcas tienen estas cremas pero huelen horrible.  I got this from my aunt (she also got me clothes but I will do a clothing post later on) and it is a self-tan lotion from Victoria's Secret. It is important to mention that this is not a powerful tanning lotion but it will give you a nice glow in your legs or body without going too crazy. I consider it is good to own one of these in case you have a trip to the beach and you're looking really pale because it will give us a bit of color plus it smells super good, there are other lotions like this one in the market but this one is the one that I believe smells the best (like coconut). 
   
3. Brochas de maquillaje Eco Tools * Eco Tools makeup brushes: Este fue uno de los regalos de mi novio +Pablo Saborio. Como ya saben me fascina el maquillaje y hace tiempo quería comprarme un set de brochas. Estas en particular son hechas de materiales reciclados lo cual es un plus y cada una viene con un estuche para transportarlas en caso de que uno viaje o vaya de paseo para que no se maltraten. Conseguimos estos 2 sets, el de la izquierda es un kit básico para ojos con 5 brochas y el de la derecha es un kit básico para la cara con 4 brochas (una para la cara, otra para los ojos, otra para las cejas y una para los labios). Por supuesto ya las use y me gustan mucho, son super suaves y por si tienen alguna duda de para que es cada brocha el empaque lo especifica y las brochas tienen nombre asi que no hay como perderse. These were one part of my boyfriend's gift this year. Like you all know I love makeup and I wanted a good set of makeup brushes. These ones in particular are made of recycled material which makes them even cooler and each set comes in a travel package in case you have to take them with you and don't want them to get damaged. We got 2 sets, the one on the left is a basic eye makeup set with 5 brushes and the one on the right is a basic face kit (one brush for the face, the eyes, the eyebrows and the lips). I already use them, of course, and I love them, they are super soft and in case you don't know what they are for each package specifies and each brush has its name on it so you can't get lost. 
   
4. Estuche Inteligente IPad *IPad Smart Case: Este fue otro de los regalos de mi novio. Hace mas o menos 1 año y medio compre un IPad 3 y obviamente compre un estuche en ese momento pero no lo había cambiado desde entonces y ya estaba super super mal y por eso Pablo me regalo uno nuevo este cumpleaños. Fuimos a la Icon Store y vimos varias opciones pero decidimos llevarnos este "Smart Case" que pone el IPad a dormir cuando lo cierras y lo enciende cuando lo abres, ademas se puede usar como base también y viene en colores bastante llamativos. Yo por supuesto quise el rosado (jeje) y el material es super chiva. Definitivamente de los mejores regalos que recibí este año. This was another present from my boyfriend. Around a year and a half ago I got an IPad 3 and of course I got a case to go with it and hadn't change it since then and it was already dead, so my boyfriend decided to give me one for my birthday this year. We went to the Icon Store and saw a few styles but this "Smart Case" from Apple was the winner. It puts your IPad to sleep when you close the case and turns it back on when you open it. You can also use this as a base and it comes in really colorful styles. I got the pink one of course and the material is very very cool. 5. The Hunger Games Catching Fire: El ultimo regalo que me dio Pablo fue ir a ver The Hunger Games Catching Fire al VIP del cine. Si me conocen sabe que The Hunger Games es mi libro favorito y de la triologia este es mi favorito asi que tenia que ver la película. Hay que ser honestos y decir que la película no es una replica 100% del libro pero quedamos bastante satisfechos con la adaptación y los efectos visuales están buenísimos. Recomiendo la pelicula y los libros definitivamente tienen que verlas y leerlos. The final present I got from Pablo was tickets to see The Hunger Games Catching Fire in the VIP launch. For those of you who know me you already know that this is my favorite book and the second one was my favorite out of the three so I had to go and see the movie for sure. I have to be honest and say that it is not a 100% faithful replica of the book but we are pretty satisfied with the adaptation and the special effects are really cool. I recommend you to check out this movie if you haven't and also to read the books cause I assure you they are pretty awesome.
